School Policies

Visitors

All visitors, parents and volunteers entering the school must notify the office upon entering the building. You must sign-in and receive a pass in the office before going to a classroom or elsewhere in the school.  Please schedule an appointment through the office for a Parent/Teacher conference or to observe a class.

Arrival/Dismissal

  1. When a student must utilize an alternate means of returning home, the office must be notified in WRITING.
  2. Students not riding the bus must not arrive on campus before 7:05 (upper) and 8:30 (primary).
  3. When picking up students, a single line should be formed behind the buses.  When the buses have departed, you may drive under the shelter, and your child will be brought to your car.
  4. If you wish to sign your child out during the school day, the student will be called to the office upon your arrival.  The parent must report to the office to complete the required sign-out information. If other than the parent, the person must be listed on the locator card as eligible to pick up the child.  ALL PERSONS CHECKING OUT STUDENTS MUST PRESENT A PHOTO I.D. EVERYTIME.
  5. The school day begins promptly at 7:20 a.m.(upper) and 8:45 a.m.(primary.)  All students must arrive on time.  Tardy students must report to the office with their parent to sign in after 7:20 a.m.(upper) and 8:45 a.m.(primary.)

Bus Rules and Regulations

From the time the student leaves home until they return, they are under the protection and supervision of the school. The bus driver must be respected and obeyed at all times. Students must ride the same bus home unless a parent notifies the school administration in writing.

 

Students could be suspended from riding the bus if they fail to follow school board safety practices and rules. Parents will be notified of any violations.

 

Regulations for students riding the buses are:

  1. Speak quietly on the bus
  2. Wait quietly and stand off the road while waiting for the bus
  3. Remain seated while the bus is moving
  4. All items should remain in school bags on the bus
  5. Use appropriate language on the bus
  6. Keep hands, arms, and head inside windows
  7. Enter or exit the bus only when at a complete stop                         
  8. Center aisle should remain clear at all times            
  9. Respect people whom you pass on the route
  10. Report any damage to the bus to your bus driver
